Day 17 (April 27th) - Draw-a-thon

well it's day 17, tomorrow is offically the last day of the draw-a-thon, I tell you what I didn't think it would be this much of a challenge, but some days it's been really hard to find time to put pencil to paper, but then again that is the original reason that the idea for this came about...anyway, todays word is: BIRTHDAY.

Day 16 (April 26th) - Draw-a-thon

Well it's day16, and I actually forgot to send the word to everyone today :S

the word of the day was Nugatory, not a word I myself can say I've ever come across before, so of course, Natalie supplied us with the dictionary definition as always which was: Futile, trifling, worthless. Inoperative, not valid.

Now being a complete and utter geek, I got Futile stuck in my head, and with futile comes Resistance is Futile, the slogan of the Borg (god, yeah, I am that much of a geek), so my first idea was the Borg... but then,mymind drifted and I ended up at the other thing that resistance is pretty much futile to... a red head ;), so I got a bit carried away with that idea, and created below,I had to stop myself doing to much to it, hence the late posting...

Right, finally up to date, I've given everyone the bank holidays off as well, but I've made myself do at least two for Friday's word.

Hi everyone, bit late posting this one up, got a bit carried away with the actual image, really enjoyed this one, and really like how the pencil work turned out so I'm going to post that, possibly posting the illustrator version later on... but yeah, day 13 of the Draw-a-thon, only 8 more days to go I believe...

Now I've wanted to do a Dr. Seuss one for a while, and today gave me the perfect oppotunity, ok, the prose aren't the best, but you get the idea....I might sit and colour it appropriatly and write the rhyme as it would appear in the book if I get the time...

The idea for my entry came to me the moment I looked up the definition of the word online, Wallah, from the basic grasp I can gather of the word, basically means worker, so hence we have a Worker-Bee... or shall we say Wallah-Bee

Ok, I know we're running late with the updates, but my internet is down at home, so resorting to a very convoluted way of posting these in work, anyway, below is the entry for day 6, the word was second sight... it's a bit hard to see, I know, but I spent the day thinking about second sight and the only thing I kept thinking of was Doctor Strange, and with Doctor Strange all I could think of was Doctor Strangelove... possibly something to do with James Homing entry... but my entry is meant to be Doctor Strange as Doctor Stangelove... I know... :S

Day 01 (April 1st) - Draw-a-thon

Well it's here, the first day of the month long draw-a-thon, we picked a random word today from the dictionary, for the guys from work, which just happened to be "Open Door", so far we've only had an entry by Mrs. Merrills, and a quick doodle I did in work too which are below, depending on time tonight, I might do another random drawing, but we'll see, don't want to burn out too quickly, well without futher ado...

April Sketchbook Challenge

I was recently pointed towards a sketchbook challenge @ http://sketchbookmonth.wordpress.com/author/cedricstudio/ by a friend (Paul Underhill) and because It's nearly finished we thought we'd start a new one for April and invite people to join in and post their sketches.

We've borrowed the rules from the above website which are as follows:
